Your data

The Privacy page says what I hold and why. This page is the practical half: how to actually get it, change it, or have it removed.

What you can ask for

  • A copy of what I hold about you, in a portable format.
  • A correction, if something is wrong.
  • Deletion of your account and the personal data attached to it.
  • An explanation of anything in the copy you do not recognise.

These are not favours and you do not have to give a reason.

How to ask

Write to admin@talkingpixels.games from the email address on your account, and say which of the above you want. If you write from a different address I will ask you to confirm from the account address first — otherwise anyone could request somebody else's data by knowing their username.

How long it takes

I aim to reply within a few days and to complete a request within thirty days. If a request is genuinely complicated I will say so and tell you when to expect it, rather than going quiet.

What a copy contains

Your account details, your profile, your listings and their versions, your posts, comments and reactions, your purchases and library, your Pixels history, and your private material — codex entries and task lists — as structured files you can open.

Uploaded files themselves are not bundled into the copy by default, because a games library can run to many gigabytes. Ask and I'll l arrange it.

What deletion actually removes

Your account, profile, posts, comments, private codex and task lists, and your listings, go. So does the link between you and anything that has to stay. If there's something you want to save or ensure is deleted message me and I will make sure something works out for me both.

Some things cannot be deleted on request, and it is more honest to say which than to discover it afterwards:

  • Sales, refunds and payouts are financial records with their own retention rules under tax and accounting law. They are kept, disconnected from your name.
  • Copies of a game or asset pack already downloaded or bought by other people stay with those people. Their licence does not end because your account did.
  • Content other members quoted or replied to may survive in their own posts, as their words rather than yours.
  • Records of copyright complaints I acted on are kept, because a repeat-infringer policy that forgets is not a policy.

Where your data physically is

On servers I rent and administer them myself, not on a third-party platform that could change its terms underneath me. Uploaded files and nightly database backups are held in object storage. Payment details are handled by Stripe and authorize and never reach me — I can never see a card number.

If you are not happy with the answer

Say so, to the same address, and it gets looked at again by a person rather than a form. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, and nothing here is meant to discourage that.
