Standard License
This is the default licence on Talking Pixels. It applies when a creator has not set their own terms on a listing. If a listing states its own licence, that one wins and this page does not apply to it.
What buying gets you
A licence to use what you bought. Not ownership of it, and not the right to pass it on. The creator keeps everything they had.
The licence is personal to you, worldwide, and does not expire. It survives the listing being taken down, the creator leaving, and the site changing — you keep what you paid for.
Games
Play it, on machines you own or control. Install it as many times as you need. Stream it, record it, and make videos about it, including monetised ones — no separate permission needed.
What you may not do: share the files, upload them anywhere, sell or lend your copy or your licence key, or take it apart to republish any part of it.
Asset packs, templates and tools
Use them in your own projects, including ones you sell. Modify them as much as you like. Use them in as many of your own projects as you like, and no royalty is owed on anything you make.
No attribution is required. It is appreciated and it is never demanded.
What you may not do: redistribute the assets as assets. Selling, giving away or including them in a pack, a template, a tutorial download or an asset library is not allowed, whether you changed them or not. The line is simple — ship the thing you made with them, not the things themselves.
That line matters most where somebody could extract what you shipped and end up with the original pack. If your project makes the raw files trivially recoverable, that is redistribution however it was packaged.
Teams and companies
One purchase covers one person. If your studio has several people working with the same assets, buy a copy per person, or ask the creator — most will say yes to a sensible arrangement if asked.
AI training
Using what you bought as training data for a generative model is not covered by this licence and is not permitted under it. Ask the creator. Some will say yes.
Refunds
Handled case by case — write to admin@talkingpixels.games. A refund ends this licence, and the copy and any keys stop being yours to use.
If this is broken
If something you bought does not work, or is not what the listing said, tell me at admin@talkingpixels.games. If something here uses your work without permission, the copyright process is in the Terms of Service and I act on it.
